Battle of the Bands

Submission period: April 1 to June 15, 2024.
Finalists notified: July 1, 2024.

Submission requirements:

  • Submit TWO songs on video (original or cover) by uploading a video to YouTube and submitting an unlisted YouTube link
    IMPORTANT: Lyrics cannot include profanity, derogatory remarks, sexually explicit content, or violence. Engaging in these acts will result in disqualification.
  • Video URLs will be required on the registration form.
  • Videos can be created using a single smartphone camera (widescreen, not square, please) or can be as elaborate as you have means to provide. Remember that the judges will need clear audio with a good mix to hear what you really sound like.
  • The audition video should reflect your band’s personality and image. Remember that the audience is a family-friendly venue.
  • A $50 entry fee is an optional donation. All proceeds go to Connection is the Cure, a non-profit organization focused on connection as a means for prevention of Suicide, Addiction, and Mental Health.

How Bands are Judged

A judging panel consisting of locally based artists and industry professionals will select bands based on the following criteria:

  • Planning/preparedness
  • Originality
  • Interface with “audience”
  • Quality of performance
  • Conformance to contest rules
  • Presentation

Rules and Guidlines

  • A band is defined as any number of people (more than one)

  • All ages welcome

  • Top five bands selected will compete for the top three placements and will be awarded cash prizes!

  • All band submissions may also lead to future bookings for Connection is the Cure events—subject to the event needs.

  • Lyrics cannot include profanity, derogatory remarks, sexually explicit content or violence. Engaging in these acts will result in disqualification

  • Songs can be on any topic, they do not have to relate to mental health or suicide
